Description:

Concordia University’s Music Department (Electroacoustic Studies) and Concordia Electroacoustic Studies Student Association (CESSA) are happy to announce EuCuE "Plugged" - a series of six electroacoustic and multimedia concerts taking place between 28 and 30 of January 2009.


Highlights:

I. Performances by Alessandro Cortini (of Nine Inch Nails), Jim Harley, Ellen Waterman, Sandeep Bhagwati, and others.

II. Pieces by Francis Dhomont, Amnon Wolman, Ricardo Dal Farra, among others.

III. A homage to the late composer Josef Tal (1910-2008), curated by Amnon Wolman, including pieces by Wolman, Yossi Mar Chaim, Arie Shapira, Eran Sachs, Ido Govrin, and Kiki Keren-Huss. Click here to read more.

IV. A screening of Une âme nue glisse à l'eau vive (A naked soul sliding into vivid waters) (2005): a film by Denis Chabot with music by Stéphane Roy

V. Pieces from Cache 2008 – the top 10 works from the most recent Jeu de temps / Times Play (JTTP) contest, including works by Nick Storring, Jean-François Blouin, Félix-Antoine Morin, Thierry Gauthier, Mathieu Arsenault, and the piece Tensho by Yota Kobayashi which was also a first prize winner in the international competition Musica Nova 2008. Description:

To round out the celebration of the week of the Chinese New Year, Concordia University is also presenting an extravaganza multi-cultural concert on Saturday, January 31, featuring music, dancers, sound and visuals (video and calligraphy!) from east asian cultures, including drummers from Thailand, Chinese minority groups, Philippine dance, music for two pianos from Japan, and many performances of traditional Chinese musics performed on guzheng and erhu.
